Are You Seeing white Spots?

Any one of these conditions can cause the appearance of “white spots” on exposed skin after tanning:

Pressure Points:

Your position on the tanning bed may create pressure on an area of the body – mainly shoulder blades, tailbone area and backs of calves – restricting blood flow and preventing tanning.

Tinea Versicolor:

A fungus originating on the scalp that falls primarily on the upper body and results in small spots that won’t tan. Not dandruff, but treatable with extra-strength dandruff shampoo over time.

Vitiligo:

Areas that do not produce melanin, usually an irregularly shaped patch of pale skin surrounded by normally-tanning skin. The cause is unknown, but medically treatable.
